This week in anguish:

- Famously, on the day both his wife and mother died, Theodore Roosevelt inscribed a large, black "X" in his diary with the words, "The light has gone out of my life." In more recent news, Troy Stecher is no longer a Vancouver Canuck.

- Although all roads lead back to Troy, we talk about various other things as well, especially Ardella's hard-learned lessons from a flabbergasting fortnight, a How Did I Not Know That about playoff pay, and we make mournful sounds for what feels like a swiftly shutting window that barely even opened.
