This week in anguish:
- Life (or in this case its henchman, Bell Media) finds new and intriguing ways to punch us in the gut.
- JPat, who poured his actual tears and toil into 1040 over many years, spent just over 30 minutes talking about its demise. We spend nearly 45 minutes.
- Get the nostalgia machine revved up and there's no telling where it will go. We talk Sports Page, Jim Robson, Tom Larscheid, and the rapidly diminishing cohort of on-air voices who "get it".
- We're not even remotely done yet. Talk moves on to 650's ancestors, the time the Griffiths owned a radio station, and the slow, seemingly inexorable march to media monopolization.
- The bubbly scales have fallen from Ardella's eyes (gross), and we re-examine what we thought we'd learned about the playoff Canucks in the harsh light of mid-February.
- And for our Stech in Time: Troy's doing great, everyone loves him and Detroit, and we deserve whatever fate befalls us from here.
