This week in anguish:

- We were going to make it through this year if it killed us, but we've survived long enough to come nearer to our mythical "tight forty-five" than we have in months, putting this cursed season to bed in 56 fun-filled minutes.

- Jim Benning, he of the real long history of breaking little hearts like the one in me, answers (?) for his team's season. Put up your dukes, let's get down to it.

- Fred J. Hume saw something he didn't like (the fact that Vancouver didn't have an NHL franchise), and he set out to right it. He never quite got the chance to dig in his heels and see how it feels to have the Canucks raise a little hell of their own.

- Francesco sent out the call, and the Sedins are still deciding whether to join this fray. What wrongs could be righted if we're united and Hank and Danny lead the way?
