This week in anguish:

- We've been down in the basement drinking coffee for the last three weeks, so we come out of the gates swinging, hitting all the hot topics: Pavel Bure's mafioso past and beer league present, Goldobin's Gagarin gulag, Jacob Markstrom's fierce offseason Canuckedness, and the shuttering of PITB.

- We talked and balked at the notion of watching Game 7 vs Calgary in 2004. Ardella really, really, hated that game, and weirdly it defibrillated Tristan's Canucks fandom, but in either case, it's still a bit too raw, 16 years on.

- We dial the machine back one more notch instead to 2003, and revel in the Canucks' Game 6 and 7 opening round victories against the St. Louis Blues. The WCE is high flying, the Sedins are doughy, Trevor Linden is oiling his crutches for Game 7, and Markus Naslund needs to chew better.

- In perhaps the best-titled segment in TWiA history, Ardella traces out the West Coast Express in The Arc of the Line, before delving into a discussion of famous line names in Canucks and NHL history.
